Q. Why are TNT Trailers better?
A. We use aluminum and stainless steel for everything that touches the water. Here in Florida (where TNT Trailers are manufactured) the saltwater, heavy rains and blistering sun destroy most trailers within a few years of normal operation. We build our trailers to outlast the life of most boats through the use of superior materials such as aluminum and stainless steel. These materials resist the electrolysis and corrosion that naturally occur in salt water, while holding up to all of the regular abuse from the elements and bumps from the road. We use torsion axles instead of leaf springs to reduce the maintenance requirements and increase handling. We can apply brakes to any trailer build to drastically improve road safety and meet your state's vehicle requirements (Note: It is up to you to make sure you are in compliance with your state's laws and statutes concerning brakes and braking systems). We also provide extras like guide poles and spare tires to ensure you have everything a quality trailer should have to offer without paying extra.
Q. How often will my TNT Trailer need maintenance?
A. You should always grease your trailer's hubs before every use to ensure a safe ride. You can use aids for keeping your hubs lubricated between trips to minimize this essential task, but TNT always recommends you use simple rubber caps on your hubs. This allows you to easily inspect and grease them before every use and to keep them covered to reduce grease run-off while launching and loading your boat. Besides hubs and tire pressure, your TNT Trailer will require minimum maintenance for safe operation due to the superior materials we use to build every trailer.
Q. Will TNT adjust my new trailer's bunk boards?
A. TNT places bunks into position according to factory specifications. However, fine tuning your bunk boards is usually needed before your first launch and can be done with simple tools. We can assist, but prefer you take the time to ensure your boat sits safely on your new TNT Trailer so that you become familiar with your individual application.
Q. How does TNT know what size and specifications to build my trailer by?
A. TNT builds trailers to meet your manufacturer's specifications using information provided by your boat builder to ensure a perfect fit. Each of our trailers' I-beams are machine bent to contour your exact make and model's factory specifications. Bunk boards are positioned to match the angle of your boat's hull... this is known as *deadrise. Any special instructions for modifications outside of the manufacturer's original design can be communicated to our customer service for consideration when building your new trailer.
* The measurement of the angle between the bottom of a boat and its widest beam. A vessel with a 0º deadrise has a flat bottom, high numbers indicate deep V shaped hulls.
